Water & Resiliency: building a strong Dutch-US collaboration in Texas

The Chief Representative of NBSO Texas, Bee Kothuis led a special field trip in Water & Resiliency along with Esther van Geloven, Sr. Policy Officer at the Netherlands Consulate in Miami, who visited the region for this specific mission.

Both representatives met with various organizations in the Galveston Bay region to discuss promising topics for exchange related to Water & Resiliency, one of the top areas of cooperation between the Netherlands and Texas.

Some of the organizations were the City of Houston, Harris County Flood Control District, Texas A&M University at Galveston, the US Army Corps of Engineers Galveston Branch, and the SSPEED Center at Rice University.

In this context, both international regions look forward to sharing their knowledge and collaborating on future projects related to both urban and coastal flood risk mitigation, protection, and resiliency.
